Watch the world · Camera locator

Where the cameras are, around the world.

The globe below is real satellite imagery. Zoom in to see each camera, choose one to read what is known about it, and add one you have seen so that others can find it too.

Coverage grows one region at a time. We begin with London and Essex, then add the Midlands, Spain and America, and then everywhere else. A place with no cameras shown may simply not be covered yet.

Add a camera you have seen

Place the camera on the globe, or use your own location if you are standing by it, then send the report. A report is checked before it is shown. It holds the place, the type and the note, and nothing that identifies you.

Where the cameras come from

Published records come from councils and authorities that release them under open licences. Each keeps its publisher and credit.
OpenStreetMap records are reported by people, under the Open Database Licence, with the contributors credited.
Visitor reports are shown only after they have been checked.

Not every camera is mapped, and a mapped camera may have moved, been removed, or never have been what the map says. Nothing here shows whether a camera is recording.
